Alfa Romeo is celebrating the anniversary of its sporty label Quadrifoglio with special editions of the Giulia and the Stelvio.
Although Alfa Romeo is also fully committed to electrification, the Italian brand still has an eye for its sporting past. For example, the 100th anniversary of Quadrifoglio is being celebrated with a special series of the sportiest Giulia and Stelvio that will certainly make the hearts of enthusiasts beat faster. That story started in 1923 with the RL, which was adorned with a green four-leaf clover as a good luck charm, which has since caused a lot of furore on and off the circuits.
Still, by the way, because the Quadrifoglio variants of the Giulia and the Stelvio are currently in the catalogue. These are powered by the 2.9 liter V6 biturbo, which is now good for 520 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This means that both the sedan and the SUV take off like a rocket with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, while the Giulia peaks well above 300 km/h.
Sporting heart
Those Quadrifoglios were recently given an extra spicy sporty sauce in the form of the 100th Anniversario Limited Edition. That limited series of 100 copies of the Giulia each time and the Stelvio gets a specific look, including the specific Quadrofoglio logo, an Akrapovich exhaust system and gold Brembo brake calipers, and a slightly sportier setup, which means it can really add value to true enthusiasts.
We were allowed to go out with the Giulia Quadrofoglio 100th Anniversario and that was of course a lot of fun: Cuore sportivo at its best! Flashy acceleration, crazy drift numbers and better cornering up to the limit of the grip level on a circuit, it’s all on another level with the Giulia Quadrofoglio that offers top-level driving sensations. But unfortunately this is one of the last, if not the very last, real Alfa Romeo with a combustion engine that ensures great authentic driving pleasure.
