Staggering price for the most extreme version of what romantically is considered the last true Alfa Romeo before the relaunch of the brand wanted by Marchionne
It has made generations of Italians dream, polarizing a consensus as universal as it is extended, even over time, to involve the experts in the sector almost unanimously. For years romantically considered “the last true Alfa Romeo”, until Marchionne decided to put the church back in the center of the village by reintroducing rear-wheel drive. In a word, iconic. The presence of the turbocharger forced the Arese technicians to modify the engine bore of the standard 75 Turbo, which reduced the displacement from 1779 cc to 1762 cc. In 1994 it was replaced with the 155, far from the classic Alfa Romeo midsize scheme which featured longitudinal engine and rear-wheel drive, with gearbox and differential in block at the rear, wishbone suspension at the front and rigid de Dion axle at the rear. The 155 had a front-wheel drive configuration and independent 4-wheel suspension (McPherson at the front and arms pulled at the rear). An alternation that took place in the Biscione range, but never in the hearts of the Alfisti.
