As businessmen close to the Russian government, Aven and Fridman have been sanctioned by the European Union and Ukraine. In May 2022, Ukraine announced the seizure of Fridman’s assets worth 420 million US dollars, which were kept in “Alfa-Bank Ukraine”.
The Central Bank of Ukraine stated that “Sense Bank” will be under state management until the end of martial law in Ukraine. Then it can be privatized.
