Alfa 2.0 Sessions Offers Free Music Education | Shows

To promote the musical talent of young Puerto Ricans with a variety of options is the mission of the Make Music Happen Foundation and its new virtual project Alfa 2.0 Sessions, which is free of charge.

It consists of a dozen modules or master classes on various careers in music, taught by instrumentalists, singers, producers and even video directors. Everything was recorded in the Alfa 2.0 studios, by the engineer Héctor Iván Rosa.

Among these we can mention: The art of producing music, by Ángel “Cucco” Peña, Carlos Mercader and Marcos Sánchez; Improvisation, by bassist Gabriel Rodríguez; Folk music in Puerto Rico, by William Cepeda; experiences of instrumentalists, such as saxophonist David Sánchez, a graduate of Berklee College of Music; The art behind an artist, with the singers Yanira Torres and Norberto Vélez; The music business in the millennial era, Copyright and Careers in the industry.

The program is free of cost and can be accessed through the address makemusichappenpr.com. In 2022, the foundation will resume the Berklee program in Puerto Rico, paused by the pandemic. The recommendation to those interested is to subscribe to the aforementioned portal and thus they will receive invitations for other initiatives.

“I’ll be talking about my experience recording in the studio and live, and mixing music; about post-production and audio. All (the resources) will have a discussion ”, he commented to THE SPOKESMAN Rosa, a Grammy-winning engineer who has worked on award-winning albums like Marc Anthony’s Contra la stream and Ricky Martin’s Vuelve.
