On the night of May 2, Alexei Shved was attacked at the exit of a Moscow restaurant on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street. On May 5, the Presnensky Court arrested three defendants in this case – Gleb Pisarev, Prince Amiraslanov and his 17-year-old brother. On May 6, the fourth defendant was taken into custody. They were charged with hooliganism (paragraph “d”, part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and intentional infliction of harm (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the attackers, the incident was provoked by Shved’s wife, who insulted them on a national basis. The basketball player himself and his companions said that the suspects were looking for any excuse to start a fight.
