Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, who is in prison, has been transferred to a hospital ward to be treated for a respiratory illness and tested for coronavirus. This was reported by Reuters, quoting the newspaper “Izvestia”, which refers to the management of prisons in the Vladimir region.
Earlier in the day, Navalny said via Instagram that he had a high fever, a severe cough, and three of his unit’s 15 inmates had recently been hospitalized with tuberculosis.
Izvestia writes that its source denied the information that there was tuberculosis in the correctional colony number 2, where Navalny is being held. If there were indeed sick people in Navalny’s entourage, the entire detachment would have been quarantined, the source said.
