The events of the registered case, No. 1773 of 2023, felonies from the Port Police Department, date back to when the security services at Alexandria Port Security received a notification from officers of the General Administration for Drug Control, seizing a large shipment of narcotic pills inside 3 ship containers inside Alexandria Port.
Investigations revealed that the secret anti-drug investigations at the port of Alexandria found the arrival of a ship coming from a foreign country through a shipping agency and containing general merchandise, because it contained a large quantity of narcotic pills. So permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution to inventory and inspect the ship’s contents.
After the decision was implemented by anti-narcotics officers and a committee formed by customs, a large number of cartons of narcotic pills were found inside containers on the ship, and it was found that the first accused, “S.J.I.”, the ship’s captain, and the second accused, “S.F.B.” The executive director of the ship brought the narcotic tablets inside 3 containers to promote them within the Egyptian country. The three containers were seized, and counting the number of narcotic tablets revealed that they were about 18,336,100 tablets (eighteen million three hundred and sixty-three and one hundred tablets), for the drugs 225 Royal, and 225 Tamol, which is a tramadol narcotic tablet. A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and the prosecution took over the investigation, which decided to refer the accused to the Alexandria Criminal Court, which issued its ruling.
