At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, Alexandra Trusova won a silver medal in single skating. Then he literally broke the skater, and every fan remembers her tears.

Emotionally, Alexandra even said that she wouldn’t go on the ice anymore. Fortunately for his fans, the athlete continued to skate, but he did not achieve much success. It seemed that Trusova would end her career, but recently she made a big return to serious sports.

Life after the Olympics

After Beijing, the skater performed at the test skates in 2022. Then Trusova presented bright and feminine programs, in which Alexandra’s work on art was visible. There was another thing to see – a back injury, because the skater was skating hard. Perhaps for this reason, she did not perform the elements with which she was very happy with skating fans.

A little later it became known that Trusova, due to excessive loads caused by an old injury, stopped working with the coaching staff of Eteri Tutberidze and moved to Svetlana Sokolovskaya. In the 2022/23 season, the skater participated in several stages of the Grand Prix. She took second place in Sochi, and then placed on the same line at the competition in Samara, after making several mistakes.

Fans were waiting for her at the Russian Championship, but Trusova withdrew due to illness. She also missed the Grand Prix final for medical reasons. Everything looked as if Trusova was preparing to end her sports career: her jump was no longer the same, injuries prevented her from skating, and there was no international start. Why do you keep performing?

Lost season

Trusova missed the 2023/24 season, but continued to train: first with Sokolovskaya, then with Plushenko. At the same time, the captain began to pay more attention to the media: Alexandra recorded a song and actively developed social networks.

And when it became known that Trusova was marrying Makar Ignatov, the haters wrote the captain down as a housewife, believing that Alexandra would not return to competitive ice.

But this summer there were the first hints of a resumption of bad training, and recently Trusova surprised fans: it turns out that she is going to play at test skates in St. Petersburg, thus returning to professional sports.

While the haters were doubting, Trusova was training. And at the beginning of August, Alexandra made a splash by posting a video with a very difficult jump – quadruple lutz, which she was able to perform beautifully and land. And just a few days after the wedding, which took place on August 17, now Alexandra Ignatova jumped a quadruple lutz-triple loop cascade in training.

Trusova is coming back – that’s for sure now!
