The candidate for governor for the Victoria Citizen Movement (MVC), Alexandra Lúgaro, considers going to court against Kobbo Santarrosa, for expressions made during the La Comay program.
“During the afternoon of yesterday, Kobbo Santarrosa, hidden behind a doll, made false, negligent, malicious and defamatory expressions against me in a television program on the Mega TV channel that is part of the SBS conglomerate, for the sole purpose of damage my reputation by claiming there was sI was sued for discrimination against a Dominican employee and that I had had to pay her for said acts, “Lúgaro said in written statements.
He claimed that the allegations are false. “I have always defended the fair and equitable treatment of every person, regardless of their race, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity, ”he explained.
He described that in a segment of about 15 minutes, where he mentioned his name on more than 20 occasions, accompanied by insults and accusations against him, Santarrosa referred to a lawsuit in which Lúgaro affirms that he was never a party, nor was he notified. “nor was there the possibility of defending myself from what is alleged in it. If it had been, you can be very sure that not only would I have denied the allegations, but I would have presented evidence to support my position. ”
He clarified that he has never been sued, either personally or professionally, “for discrimination of any kind and when Santarrosa says otherwise, LIES.”
“I have asked my legal representation to formally communicate with the Mega TV and SBS production, demanding that Kobbo Santarrosa retract the defamatory charges it made and immediately cease the publication of false and malicious information. As Santarrosa continues its negligent and defamatory actions with the sole purpose of causing damage to my reputation less than 150 days from the next election, I will be proceeding to defend my honor and track record in court. It will not only be Santarrosa who will have to answer for their actions, but also the means that allow and promote them, “he stated,
He explained that the lawsuit referred to was filed against the América Aponte & Asociados company in December 2015. By that time, a year had elapsed since he resigned from the company and he was in the midst of campaigning with the Government of Puerto Rico. as an independent candidate.
“Not having been sued, nor being an employee of the company, the claim in question was not attended or handled in any way by this server or participated in the judicial process related to it. Virginia, the employee Santarrosa talks about, more than an employee, was my co-worker and friend, a tireless worker that I personally recruited when I saw her work for the accounting firm that helped us in the financial and audit processes. I worked side by side with her for over 6 years. During that time, she became our Chief Financial Officer and third highest-ranking employee.
