Although he has never won a Grand Slam title like his colleague Jannik Sinner or tennis legend Boris Becker, Alexander Zverev has surpassed both of them in one particular aspect: career winnings.
The German superstar has already reached two major finals, finishing second in both, and has an Olympic gold medal and an ATP Finals title to his name, as well as being ranked number 2 in the world. However, he has never won a title on tennis’ biggest stage.
Zverev is only behind the Big Four in career winnings
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old has earned more money than anyone in tennis history, with the exception of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. Since turning professional in 2013, Zverev has earned an incredible $44.8 million in singles and doubles.
World number one Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, has earned $28.6 million in his career. The Italian earned $3.6 million with his victory at Flushing Meadows last week and has already earned $11 million in 2024, the most on the ATP Tour.
Zverev has also earned more than any other retired tennis icon, including fellow countryman Becker. The former world number one won seven Grand Slam titles in his career but earned just $25 million, with prize money during his time on the tour being significantly lower. Among active players, only Djokovic and Nadal have raked in more prize money than Zverev, with $184 million and $135 million respectively.
