The puck of Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin did not save Washington from defeat in the NHL regular season match with Nashville.

The meeting in Washington ended in victory for the guests with a score of 3:2 after a series of post-match shootouts.

Ovechkin scored a goal against Nashville in the second period, the puck being the forward’s 829th in his career. At the end of the third period, Ovechkin scored the second goal, but the goal was canceled after a video review. In the shootout, Ovechkin did not convert his attempt.

Ovechkin, 38, ranks second on the league’s all-time scoring list with 829 goals, 65 behind Canada’s Wayne Gretzky (894).
