Lukashenko also recalled that Zelensky’s term of office ends in May and this could raise the problem of the legitimacy of certain potential agreements.
“A situation may arise when Putin himself says: “Guys, who should we sign an agreement with?” The powers of the President of Ukraine have expired.” Today we will sign, say, some kind of agreement with him, tomorrow you will come to power, become president, you will not like it. And they know how to do this, as per the Minsk agreements. Remember. They will throw it all away and say: “Yes, this was signed by an illegitimate president!” “I don’t know this at all!” – the new president will say,” the Belarusian leader noted.
In his opinion, this could really happen.

He will say: “I don’t know this and I don’t want to know!” Tomorrow the Americans will put pressure on his pocket (they always squeeze billions) and say: “Continue the war.” The war will continue… Therefore, as the first president of Russia said, there is some kind of squiggle,” Lukashenko said.
Let us remind you that Russia is conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. In Kyiv, citing the imposed martial law, they decided not to hold the presidential elections scheduled for 2024. At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Constitution, Zelensky’s powers end in May.
