The investigation requested that the former director be left in custody, the lawyer specified.

After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Timofey Kulyabin made strong statements against the war and left Russia. In April, he resigned as the chief director of “Red Torch”, and in May, the Bolshoi Theater canceled his opera “Don Pasquale”.
