Alexander Isak’s first goal for Newcastle came against Liverpool at Anfield in the 2022 season.
On New Year’s Day, the teams were pitted against each other – and Isak once again got to celebrate in front of the Liverpool crowd.
In the second half, the national team striker equalized to 1–1. Isak ran free deep and coolly slotted the ball into the far corner, his ninth goal of the season.
The goal came in the 54th minute. Just five minutes earlier, Mohamed Salah had avenged a penalty miss by making it 1-0.
With a quarter to go, Liverpool regained the lead. Curtis Jones made it 2-1 after a beautiful strike. In the 78th minute, Salah played Cody Gakpo – who made it 3-1.
