Alexander Domogarov The famous actor was deprived of the main role in the play “Tartuffe or the Deceiver.” This was preceded by a scandal with the management of a cultural institution.

Alexander Yuryevich will not play the role of Tartuffe in the production of “Tartuffe or the Deceiver” at the Mossovet Theater. According to the order of artistic director Evgeniy Marcelli and director Alexei Cherepnev, the actor is exempt from participation in the play, and, allegedly, of his own free will. Meanwhile, as journalists from the Moskovsky Komsomolets publication learned, Domogarov had been humiliated before this.

The artist’s conflict with the theater management escalated on September 29. Reporters found out that after the next rehearsal of Tartuffe, Domogarov was officially demanded to explain where he was on September 13 and why he was absent from the rehearsal. Alexander Yuryevich was in Cyprus at a film festival, which he was accused of.

“It is necessary to explain the reasons for temporary stay in September 2023 in a country included in the list of foreign states and territories committing unfriendly actions against the Russian Federation, Russian legal entities and individuals, and participation in the Russian-Cypriot Film Festival on September 13, 2023 without written consent from head of the repertory department, artistic director and director of the theater,” notes the document that was presented to the star.

Witnesses of that scene say that Alexander Yuryevich, who had changed beyond recognition after the death of his ex-wife, lost control of himself, began to scream and promised to involve lawyers in the situation. However, what happened hardly came as a surprise to him. Domogarov’s conflict with the management of the Mossovet Theater is well known; the press has already written about it.
