Cuban reggaeton artist Alexander Delgado suffered a spectacular fall on stage during his performance this Thursday at the Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony, held in Miami.
Gente de Zona was one of the great guests of the night, who enlivened the event with their live performances, but like any live performance, sometimes things can go wrong.
This is how, while performing with his musical partner, Randy Malcom, the iconic song La Negra Has TumbaoDelgado tripped over a part of the stage and fell forward, hitting his stomach, his arms, and apparently his legs.
The fall occurred while the duo was paying tribute to the legendary singer Celia Cruz, within the framework of the centenary of her birth, just at the moment of finishing the phrase “everyone follows her with her walk.”
Initially, the accident worried the public and especially the singer’s fans, since he already has a severe knee injury, which has cost him two surgeries.
The first in August, when the incident just occurred, where he was injured when jumping at a presentation on 8th Street; and the second only 4 months ago, just last October for the same injury.
Fortunately, it seems that everything ended in a scare, and the singer did not hit his limb, as he quickly got up and continued singing with all his heart.
The video broadcast on the Instagram of Cuban comedian Jose Coll, at the end, gathered hundreds of comments in support of the leader of Gente de Zona, who so far has not commented on the event.
“I am present at the awards and one of the best shows has just been given by Gente de Zona, raising our flag high. There are levels, a lot of professionalism,” commented one user.
“That is the fall of the greats. Whoever does not go through that is not worthy of being called great. Just falling down and getting up that fast. It is the real sign of what a true fighting spirit is and this is a warrior to all the laws of life. Monarch pure flavor. “Sugar!” wrote another.
“Anyone who has never fallen on a stage is because they have never been on it. Very professional, I applaud him. “He had a recent surgery.” added a third.
The Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony is one of the contests with the greatest recognition for Latin music in the United States. This year, in its 36th edition, it was held at the Kaseya Center in the city of Miami, Florida.
