Alexander Abreu makes his debut as a mafioso in ‘Tras la Huella’ and is rained down by criticism

The Cuban musician Alexander Abreu made his debut as an actor in the police series on Cuban television, on the trailwhere he played a criminal.

Under the nickname of El Capo, Abreu’s character made his appearance this week in the famous police, a participation that has been disseminated through the YouTube channel Camina La Habana.

In the video, the mobster incarnated by Abreu is observed, covered with jewels that show his money and his power, in a character that was admired by many, and despised by many others.

Some criticized the musician for lending himself to playing a criminal, to which the actor responded unceremoniously on his Facebook, noting that if he had a chance to repeat this acting experience, he would do it again.

“For those who love me and congratulated me, thank you very much. For those who love me and believe that I should not have done this job, thank you very much, “said the singer in a publication.

Abreu, who recently offered a concert in Ecuador, has always been a controversial character, due to his service to the Cuban regime, being one of its recognized spokesmen, and his constant attacks on Cuban opposition musicians.

Despite the fact that the leader of the Havana D’Primera orchestra normally ignores this type of criticism, the ones he did seem susceptible to were those who made fun of his acting skills.

“For those who do not like me and have made negative comments, I tell you that I am not an actor, I am a musician and I did it because I wanted to,” he said.

Finally, the singer ended his publication with a happy tone for him, where he finally seemed to address his detractors.

“I had a lot of fun doing this and would do it again if they called me. To those who love me, thank you, to those who love me very much, thank you, to those who hate me, buy yourselves a life, ”she concluded.

This is not the first time that Abreu has faced the cameras as an actor. Previously, he participated in the film Seven days in Havana, where he played a musician who earned his living as a boatman. In this feature film, he shared scenes with the renowned Serbian director, actor and musician Emir Kusturica.
