Alex Rins Ends Honda’s Winning Streak at Grand Prix of the Americas

Reins took advantage of the fall of leader Pannaia to end Honda’s long streak of wins.

Italian Luca Marini (Ducati) finished second and Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) third.

Bagnaia won Saturday’s sprint but left the circuit without points on Sunday, extending his lead in the drivers’ standings to compatriot Marco Besicki, who finished sixth.

Rins, who won with Suzuki on track in 2019, moved into first place just before the 20-lap mark when Panaya’s bike slid off the track.

Reins took advantage of the incident and kept his composure to claim his sixth class one victory.

“I was trying to push Biko (Bañaya)… so I’m very happy and very proud of the team,” he said after the win.
