Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been told that moving to West Ham United from Liverpool this summer would be ‘perfect’.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was linked to a move to the Hammers last week with a report claiming that David Moyes is believed to be considering a possible loan offer for him.
The report also claimed that Jurgen Klopp is keen to sell the former Arsenal player this summer as he intends to reshape his squad for the new season.
Oxlade-Chamberlain found it difficult to get into the Reds’ starting lineup last season amid injury problems, and Glen Johnson believes a trade to Hammers this summer could benefit him.
“Yes. Possibly. West Ham is a fantastic football club and they will let Alex enjoy his football,” he told BettingOdds.com.
“Obviously the only concern with Ox is that he has to keep fit, because he’s a fantastic player with pockets of energy and great skill, but that’s not good at the treatment table.
“Hopefully his body can last the whole next season. But I think West Ham United and Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a perfect fit.
“Moyes would remove the shackles, let him go and have fun, and see what he can do. Touch wood Alex can stay in shape and get back to his best.”
Another Reds star linked to an Anfield outing in recent weeks has been Nat Phillips following the returns of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
The central defender has linked up with a host of clubs across Europe, but Johnson is hopeful Phillips will stay at Anfield this summer after impressing last season.
He said: “It really impressed me when he came over to the side during a really difficult time and put on some shoes that were impossible to fill and I think all the other little kids did too.
“Everyone should. Finish the summary.
