Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suffered a serious hamstring injury

Late on Friday evening, Liverpool Football Club and Jürgen Klopp came up with an update on the injury situations of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Caoimhin Kelleher. The duo was not with the rest of the squad for Germany and Austria.

The former injured himself after a shot against Crystal Palace during the Asia tour, and since then there has not been much news regarding the Englishman. The update that came recently was not good news for him or Liverpool.

– It will take time with Oxlade (Chamberlain). It is a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer. It’s a hoarding, and we hate to say this, but this happens from time to time and now Ox has suffered such an injury, said Klopp in the second part of Thursday’s press conference.

GOOD START: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was on his way to hitting good form when the injury occurred just over two weeks ago.

Jürgen Klopp also provided an update regarding Caoimhin Kelleher. Nothing much has been said about the Irishman’s injury previously, although he has been out of the entire run-up to Liverpool.

– Caoimhin (Kelleher) felt something after the national team matches and everyone in the medical apparatus there said that it would be awake until the run-up, said the German.

It was not exactly that scenario that became reality. Kelleher has not been on the grass since the internationals in June. Against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday night, Adrian will be in goal for Liverpool. Alisson is also out with a minor injury.

– He came back and during the first training he felt it again. We checked him and everything was not as good as Caoimhin thought. He will probably be back again in two to three weeks.
