Less than a week before the semifinal of the Playoff for Promotion to 2ªB, SD Compostela outlines the last details before their clash against CD Barco. The physical component will be fundamental, in a new football, with five changes and breaks for hydration. The SD Compostela coach, Álex Otero, stressed that the players “arrived in very good shape”.

They all face a “completely novel” context, without precedent. “We try to control all aspects as much as possible”, explained in Hoy por Hoy Santiago Álex Otero, who acknowledged that during the quarantine the players “worked very well”, and that for that reason “they arrived in very good shape”.
Teamwork sessions, through digital applications, and individual races in the afternoon were the usual trend. “They worked like wild boars,” said the Compos fitness trainer.
They prepare the Playoff trying to get closer to the contexts that are most similar to a typical match. In the last days they have already played matches of 11 against 11 of 90 minutes, with hydration breaks. Otero hopes that they know how to adapt better than the rival and make them carry the rhythm that interests SD Compostela.
He admits that the possibility of making five changes benefits opponents more, who tend to suffer, running after the ball, against a team that likes to have possession.
Asked about the headdresses – Brais Abelenda and Álvaro Casas – sends a message of tranquility: “Neither of them currently has problems”.
