Once again, Alex Lambacher’s body puts a wrench in the work: due to injury, the former DEL forward and second division side Heilbronn went their separate ways.

“For health reasons, striker Alex Lambacher will no longer play for the Falcons. After friendly talks, the decision was made to terminate the contract with him”, with these two sentences the Heilbronner Falcons announced the end of Val Gardena on the their club site.

Lambacher moved from the Augsburg Panthers to the DEL2 club in the summer of 2021, and now has to look for a new employer. Lambacher made his last of 16 appearances of the season for Heilbronn on 4 November in a 1:5 draw at home to Eisbären Regensburg. He has a total of 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) this season.

The tall forward already missed most of the season in Heilbronn last year as he had to undergo multiple hip surgeries. Previously, the 26-year-old was in the DEL with Mannheim and Augsburg, as well as in the second division with goal-chasing Kassel.

Julius Ramoser is convincing

At Heilbronner Falken, Lambacher was recently a teammate of another South Tyrolean, namely Julius Ramoser. The only 20-year-old striker from Renon, who trained with the Mannheimer Jungadler, signed his first professional contract in the summer and is currently playing his first full season in the second German ice hockey league. He recorded 2 goals and 5 assists in 15 appearances.
