Alex Cooper moves to SiriusXM with “Call Her Daddy” in $100 million deal

22. August 2024

Alex Cooper, host of the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” which was the second-biggest podcast on Spotify in 2023, has signed a new deal with SiriusXM.

The deal, reportedly worth $100 million, gives the broadcast company exclusive rights to advertising, distribution, content and events for the relationship and sex advice podcast, which often attracts celebrity guests. The agreement takes effect next year.

In addition to the rights to “Call Her Daddy,” SiriusXM will also receive the rights to shows produced by Cooper’s production company, Unwell Network, including the podcasts “Hot Mess with Alix Earle” and “Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy.” SiriusXM plans to provide exclusive content starting next year, with episodes available ad-free for premium subscribers.

“Call Her Daddy” was the fourth-largest podcast in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2024, ranking behind “The Joe Rogan Experience,” “Crime Junkie,” and The New York Times’ “The Daily.” Alex Cooper himself was ranked 12th on Forbes’ list of top-earning creators in 2023, with estimated earnings of $20 million.

Cooper expressed her excitement about working with SiriusXM, stressing that her fans, the “Daddy Gang,” remain her top priority and that she will find new ways to enhance the listening experience with SiriusXM.

Cooper launched Call Her Daddy in 2018 with her former co-host Sofia Franklyn, and the podcast quickly gained popularity. Just one month after launching, the show was acquired by Barstool Sports. After a dispute with Barstool, Franklyn left the show, while Cooper stayed on and built the podcast into one of Spotify’s biggest hits.
