VILLORBA (TREVISO) (ITALPRESS) – With a significant gesture in favor of public art, the entrepreneur Alessandro Benetton, in collaboration with the 21Gallery, has entrusted the work of art “Unhate Dove” to the Municipality of Villorba.
The work “Unhate Dove” is a majestic dove created by the Cuban artist Erik Ravelo, which has aroused admiration and reflection throughout the world. One of the two twin works was donated to the city of Tripoli in 2011, where it still resides today, representing an eternal symbol of hope and peace.
Made up of over 15,000 bullet casings collected from different conflict zones around the world, “Unhate Dove” represents a universal call for understanding, dialogue and rebirth.
“Unhate Dove – we read in a note – was shaped with material that saw the horror of war, transmitting a powerful anti-hate message and promoting tolerance through art”.
The sculpture will be placed in the center of the roundabout at the intersection between Pontebbana and Viale della Repubblica, facing the entrance to the city of Treviso.
This initiative by Alessandro Benetton is an integral part of the TAD – Treviso Art District project, a creative center dedicated to art, catering and design, supported by the entrepreneur and which is committed to promoting culture and art in the local community. Within this structure, the presence of the 21Gallery further contributes to bringing art “outside” the confines of traditional galleries and making it accessible to all.
“The powerful message of Unhate Dove is a call for hope and the need to overcome the culture of hatred in the world,” commented Alessandro Benetton. “I am thrilled that this work can excite and involve an even wider audience. It is a symbol of peace and harmony, but, today more than ever, it also represents a commitment that must involve each of us.”
