Aleš Totter Takes Over as HC Slavia Prague’s Head Coach in the Chance League

The hockey players of the first league Slavia will be led for the rest of the season by Aleš Totter, who last coached Slovakia’s Poprad. He will have assistants Daniel Tvrzník and Pavel Kolařík at hand.

After only one win from the last nine rounds, Slavia is second to last in the table, and Frýdek-Místek is also struggling badly. The team has already received impulses in the form of the arrivals of Karel Klikorka, Matěj Beran and Tomáš Guman, and now there is also a redistribution of competences in the implementation team.

The current head coach Daniel Tvrzník is moving to the position of assistant, he will help the newly arrived Aleš Totter. “Dan has done a great deal of work for us, which we value, and we are glad that he has decided to continue in the role of assistant,” said its chairman Stanislav Tichý on Slavia’s website.

“It is an honor for me to train at a club with such a rich history as Slavia.”

“In any case, our team’s results are below expectations, we are troubled by productivity and we often do not manage the end of matches. We believe that the new coach will give the team the necessary impetus and we will be able to turn around the unfavorable development of the season,” wishes Tichý.

Totter is a coach behind whom results are known: in the role of Václav Prospal’s assistant, he contributed to Motor’s promotion to the extra league and in the previous two seasons he led Prostějov to the first league semi-finals.

However, this year’s mission in Slovakia did not work out for him, at the beginning of November he was recalled from the Poprad squad. And so he returns to the Chance League. “It is an honor for me to train at a club with such a rich history as Slavia,” Totter is happy.

He will make his debut on the Slavic side on Wednesday, coincidentally against Prostějov. “There is a very talented team here, I look forward to working with them. I believe that we will be able to get out of the current situation quickly,” reports Totter in an interview for hc-slavia.cz.
