Alès: the Regional Health Agency comes to test people with disabilities against Covid-19

The premises of the Alésien Basin Associative Collective (Caba) received the mobile team from the Regional Health Agency to test members.

Test, alert, protect. A formula repeated like a mantra by the government to define its policy in the fight against the Covid epidemic. But also the name given to the ARS mobile team responsible for carrying out proximity tests.

“We follow 280 people at their homes, explains Bruno Dagron, director of Caba, from 18 to 62 years old. We support people when there is a mental deficiency. “ This Thursday morning, the director of the Alesian structure is waiting “around 50 people would be ideal”, considers the director.

Four patients out of 280 people followed

A figure on the way to being reached since, by mid-morning, 25 people had already carried out the test, in addition to the Caba staff who took advantage of the presence of the mobile team.

Since the first wave, only four people followed out of the 280 have contracted the Covid. “We have implemented business continuity, respecting all barrier gestures and applying cleaning procedures. The interest of maintaining the activity of the Caba reduces the risk of isolation and its consequences on health mental. During the first confinement, we set up a digital platform, recurring phone calls and maintained a Facebook page with ancillary activities, such as cooking to maintain a balanced meal. “

The people followed, who made the trip on Thursday in the Grand-rue Jean-Moulin, were therefore welcomed, tested by means of antigenic tests in order to obtain a rapid response and, after a little waiting, were able to benefit from new explanations. By mid-morning, no test had been positive.

Accompanied with the Caba

The associative collective of the Alésien basin offers three systems: a support service towards autonomy, another of activities and mediation and a medico-social support for disabled adults.
