This Friday, January 22, the Purple Campus Alès training center had the good idea to offer king cakes to the nursing staff of the Alès Cevennes Hospital Center.
This is a happy initiative launched by the Purple Campus Alès training center which materialized early this Friday afternoon at the Alès Cévennes Hospital Center, in favor of nursing staff, and others, of the various health institution services.
These are the young apprentices in Kitchen and Service first year of Purple Campus who were responsible for making the many pancakes, under the direction of their teacher Arnaud Joncoux.
Almost 400 portions to taste
The latter, touched by the efforts made by caregivers for several months, recalls: “With the help of young people from the Campus, I wanted to support the hospital world. The initial project was to want to invite staff to the Prés-Rasclaux application restaurant in Alès, but the current context does not not allowed! “ He therefore had to find a new avenue to bring some comfort to these personnel. “And then, it tilted in my head, thinking of the galette des rois in January.
With the participation of about twenty young people, we were able to make three kinds of pancakes with three classic flavors, frangipane, coconut-pineapple and praline.“ This represents around fifty pancakes, i.e. nearly 400 portions to taste, prepared the day before, and cooked the same morning to keep their crispness and refined flavors.
Needless to say, an exquisite smell had invaded the hall of the hospital center where they were presented before each department came to collect them.
