Alerts rejection for “Bettan”

In 1992, Elisabeth “Bettan” Andreassen (63) secured her own holiday paradise on Brønnøya in Asker. In the new year, the singer sent an application to the municipality for permission to demolish an outbuilding on the holiday property, which is idyllically located by the sea.

Andreassen’s plan is to build a new outbuilding of 22.2 square meters. According to the plan, it will be as large as the existing building stock, and placed in the same place as before.

– Existing outbuildings are to be replaced with a new one with the same ridge direction as the holiday home. Today, the plot consists of a holiday home, a boathouse and an outbuilding. The outbuilding is to be replaced, it is stated in the application.

– Large overrun

Now, however, “Bettan” is facing opposition at Asker municipality’s construction case department. It was Budstikka who first mentioned the case.

– The planned new outbuilding of 22 square meters will, together with the existing beach house of 9.5 square meters, result in a relatively large exceedance in terms of number and size for two outbuildings, on a total built-up area of 31.5 square meters, the municipality writes in the reply letter as Børsen has gained insight into.

The case officer points out that “Brønnøya has great cultural and natural values that it is important to safeguard so that vegetation, landscape and environment are as little affected as possible and can be preserved.”

– The buildings will be limited in size and number, and will be adapted and continue the qualities in the area with both in terms of buildings, landscape, vegetation, cultural monuments, environment and biological diversity, it says.

Alerts rejection

The municipality further states that, in accordance with the zoning plan, they can allow the construction of an outbuilding of up to 15 square meters.

Furthermore, the case officer announces the refusal, with a request that an application for dispensation be sent – something “Bettan” and her architect have done. Until further notice, it remains to be seen whether the singer will be exempted from carrying out the building plans.

Oslo Børs has been in contact with Elisabeth Andreassen. She further refers to her architect, Pieter Paul Furnée, in Boxs Arkitektstudio:

– Elisabeth is very concerned with a proper and sober solution. We completely agree with the municipality to take care of vegetation, landscape and environment, so that is why we want to build in the same place, with the same size – outside the beach zone. We have now applied for a dispensation, and are awaiting treatment of this, says Furnée to Børsen.
