Several media outlets report on Monday that Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, warns of new reactions as a result of the sanctions imposed by a number of countries. Tightening of the visa requirement will be among the measures now being prepared.
The tightening of the requirements will primarily apply to those listed on a longer Russian list of “unfriendly countries and territories”. The list was set up as a result of the sanctions imposed in the wake of the war in Ukraine.
In addition to Norway, the list includes the United States and Canada, the EU countries, the United Kingdom (including the island states of Jersey, Anguilla, Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands), Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland, Albania, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Northern Macedonia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Micronesia, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan.

– Destroyed by our western colleagues
Earlier Monday, the news came that Lavrov does not want Western countries to interfere in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, writes the Russian state news agency TASS.
According to TASS, Lavrov’s statements came during an interview with Serbian media on Monday.

– They tell us to “give diplomacy a chance”. Of course, we want to give diplomacy a chance, and that is why we have agreed to negotiations, which will now be resumed in Istanbul. But there are many examples of things achieved through diplomacy being destroyed by our Western colleagues. Now they are not to be trusted, Lavrov said according to TASS.
In the same interview, Lavrov also said that he does not think it would be appropriate for talks between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyj at this time.
Envoys from Russia and Ukraine will meet on Tuesday in Istanbul to resume talks on a peace agreement.
