The fundamental reason Premium is detrimental to consumers is because car manufacturers rarely produce cars with compression ratios that match the fuel. So that if forced to even make these vehicles produce more pollutant exhaust emissions.
“Premium can only be used for gasoline engines with a low compression ratio. Meanwhile, we know, car manufacturers are currently using a compression ratio that is already high. So therefore it is rare for modern cars to install a low compression ratio on their cars. Because if using a low compression ratio, the engine’s power density automatically lowers as a result, the economic fuel expressed in units of kilometers / liter of fuel is also low then exhaust emissions are more polluting, “he explained.
