Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Vaccine study corona what AstraZeneca did to citizens of the United States (US) was stopped. Previously, the company and Oxford University were most advanced in the manufacture of the corona (Covid-19) vaccine.
This came after an alleged serious adverse reaction to a volunteer from England. A company spokesman said it was temporarily suspended for a safety review.
Unfortunately, what reaction the volunteers got is not certain. However, a source with knowledge of the matter said volunteers were expected to recover soon.

“This stopping is a routine thing that must be done every time there is a potential disease, which cannot be explained (appears) in one of the trials,” wrote STAT quoting an AstraZeneca spokesman, Wednesday (9/9/2020).
“While it is being investigated, we are maintaining the integrity of the test,” said the company again while emphasizing that it was working quickly to minimize the impact of the trial.
This kind of clinical delay is common. However, it is not clear how long AstraZeneca will do this.
STAT sources said the discontinuation had an impact on vaccine testing being carried out by other vaccine manufacturers. Currently there are 9 vaccine candidates that are entering phase three (final) trials in humans.
Meanwhile, another source said that researchers are now looking for other cases of adverse reactions to vaccine recipient volunteers. Reactions classified as serious adverse events were described in illness requiring hospitalization, life-threatening illnesses and even death.
In the US, AstraZaneca’s final trial took place since the end of August, in 62 locations. Previously, 2/3 of the tests had been carried out in England, Brazil and South Africa.
