Alert! Motor Vibration Can Damage iPhone Camera

Suara.com – Apple warns the user that the vibrations generated by high-powered motorcycles can be damaging camera iPhone. In fact, this damage can be permanent.

Apple said the high vibrations in the motor could damage the iPhone’s camera features, especially on the iPhone optical image stabilizer (OIS) and closed-loop autofocus (OF).

OIS on the iPhone serves to focus on objects when the camera is moving.

So when the user accidentally takes a picture but the phone shakes, then OIS is in charge of locking the object of the camera being targeted.

Temporary closed-loop autofocus useful for setting the focus on the subject of the photo so that it does not move, as well as for videos and panoramas.

Apple says long-term direct exposure to vibrations in a certain frequency range can degrade the performance of these systems and cause image quality degradation for photos and videos.

However, Apple also mentions that motorized vehicles with relatively low vibrations such as scooters will not have much effect.

The company also appeals to use vibration dampers when forced to attach an iPhone to a motorcycle.
