Researchers in the ZOE COVID Study have reported a “sharp increase” in people reporting gastrointestinal symptoms through January 2022.
The NHS still lists the main symptoms of the virus Covid-19 as a high temperature, a new, persistent cough, and a loss or change in your body.

Then the sense of smell or taste however, you may also experience other symptoms.
Research and data from the ZOE COVID Study app notes that digestive problems such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea can all be symptoms of COVID-19.
Last year the organization said that loss of appetite was an early sign of COVID-19.

“Skipping meals for a short period of time because you feel unwell is not something to be overly concerned about in people under 65,” he said.
He added however, that continued loss of appetite in the elderly could be a sign that something is wrong and should be consulted with their GP or healthcare professional.
“There’s no need to force yourself to eat if you don’t like it, but it’s very important to keep drinking fluids to help replace water lost as your body fights infection.”
