An alarm has sounded in the USA after the information that exists about Russia’s “serious threat” to the country’s national security. As the hours pass, the picture seems to clear up about the nature of the threat.
ABC News provided further information from its own sources, writing that the “national security threat” warning is about Russia wanting to put a nuclear weapon in space.
According to ABC, this is not about dropping a nuclear weapon on Earth, but rather its possible use against satellites. “It’s very disturbing and very sensitive”said a source, who called it “big case”.
While not directly involved in the matter, several members of Congress have described the issue as serious — but nothing that should cause public concern.
The “national security threat” that caused concern in the US Congress
Earlier Wednesday, Rep. Mike Turner, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement that his committee “made available to all members of Congress information about a serious national security threat.”
“I am asking President Biden to declassify all information regarding this threat so that Congress, the Administration and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to address this threat,” said Turner, Republican of Ohio.
Although it did not provide information on the nature and origin of the threat, media outlets cited their own sources in their report, which said it was related to Russia.

Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser, was pressed several times by reporters at a White House briefing about the Republican intelligence request, but declined to say specifically whether Thursday’s meeting would discuss that reported threat.
He also declined to elaborate on that, other than to say that, broadly speaking, “Americans understand that there are a number of threats and challenges in the world that we face every day”such as terrorism.
He announced that the “special committee of eight” which consists of top officials of both factions, who this Thursday will be informed by him in detail about the specific issue.
