Alert for Poor Air Quality in NYC Leads to Closures and Suspensions

The alert for poor air quality in New York City has forced the closure of various places and many activities have been suspended.

-The Bronx and Central Park zoos closed.

-Also the Queens Zoo, the Prospect Park Zoo and the New York Aquarium.

-All Parks Department recreation events have been canceled or postponed, but recreation centers will remain open.

The Parks Department’s “Movie Under the Stars” events were also cancelled.

-Bryant Park temporarily suspended its yoga classes and other activities.

-Alternate parking rules are suspended, although the parking meters will remain in force.

The Fire Department will be distributing N-95 masks in all five boroughs, the limit is two masks per person.

You should limit outdoor activity and stay in ventilated places when possible.
