IDXChannel– Lately, many applications have appeared that claim to be a saturation meter oxygen atau oximeter.
IT expert and lecturer at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Budi Rahardjo said that the oximeter application is a fake or fake application that only aims to steal fingerprint user.
The reason is, the application will ask the user to attach a fingerprint to the cellphone. Then instead of measuring oxygen saturation, the application steals the user’s identity via fingerprint.
“So the application is not an oximeter application, but a fake application where he asks for our fingers, after that, he steals our fingers, then sticks them on the camera,” said Budi in the talk show Multidimensional Threats of Pandemic Cyber Attacks which was held virtually, Tuesday (13/7/ 2021).
However, this incident only happened in India. Because many citizens can make applications. Once the app is blocked then it appears again and so on.
“Indians are smart in making a lot of applications, they close and reappear. Hopefully they don’t enter Indonesia. Hopefully Indonesians are aware that there are quite a few problems,” he concluded
