Alert! A solar storm will hit the earth this week, what will be the impact? : Okezone techno

JAKARTASun storm It is reported that this has occurred again, where the center of the Milky Way galaxy’s solar system has been actively spewing coronal masses almost every day since mid-January 2022.

Reporting from Science Alert, Tuesday (15/3/2022), this news was delivered directly by the Center for Outer Space Weather Prediction of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the British Meteorological Agency (British Met Office).

It is said that several eruptions from solar storms have struck the Earth directly, meaning the planet is having a direct effect on the phenomenon.

So what is the impact on Earth? NOAA and the British Met Office have issued warnings regarding this geomagnetic storm, said to be coming again over the next few days.

However, they stressed the scale is likely to be in the mild category, and the impact on Earth itself is nothing to worry about.

He explained that in fact the Earth had been hit by mild and moderate geomagnetic storms over the past few days, the levels were recorded in the G1 and G2 categories on the highest solar storm scale G5.

This level, indicates that it may have an impact on decreasing high frequency radio signals, and that recovery measures need to be taken for satellites due to the effects of the storm.

Then, another effect is interference with the activities of animals that are migrating, and if conditions permit, can make satellites in outer space crash.

In addition, the direct impact of solar storms is an increase in the activity of the aurora borealis and aurora australis which can be seen from the North Pole and South Pole.

It should be noted that basically the solar storm phenomenon is a fairly normal space event, this occurs when the sun’s activity is more active than usual.
