“The modes of communication are evolving and even faster since this Covid which had unfortunate consequences on artistic educational establishments”, explains Xavier Vanhooland, the director who had the idea “of a virtual visit of the Conservatory of first so that people locate it in the City of the Dukes but also to present the team, the establishment, its artistic and aesthetic environment and finally to make people want to enter the establishment and register! “

The order was placed with Ouranies, a theater company fromAlencon (Orne) which is expanding its activity to video.
Etienne Briand, one of the two co-founders, then set up the screenplay.
It was necessary to compose music by gradually bringing in the instruments. Samuel Leloup, violin teacher at the Conservatory, wrote it, integrating the constraints of break time, the addition of other instruments such as current music and the organ but also the theater. It was necessary to make it play with the different musicians and to add to that a significant mixing time.
At the end of a very dense month of work for Etienne Briand, the result is breathtaking!

The video achieves its objectives of locating the Conservatory and presenting the various artistic disciplines. All against the backdrop of impressive aerial images.
“I used a drone since now I have my drone remote pilot license”, explains Etienne Briand.
“My past as a musician helps me read scores and accompany musicians and the dimension of acting has an influence in my production: it dramatizes things”, adds the actor whose practice of video games has also helped him. facilitated the control of the drone piloting.
The question of playing video games is asked when registering for the theoretical patent test. The use of the console controllers helps to understand the orientation of the drone!
A collective work
He does not hide his enthusiasm in front of the beautiful reception of his video: “It tells us about our desire to get out of this crisis after having all been confined in our spaces”.
For Xavier Vanhooland, director of the CRD d’Alençon: “It shows well what we do and not only classical: theater and contemporary music too. It is a collective work of the conservatory, in the realization and the participation. It has moral and social value! “
