Single figure skater Kostornaya left coach Buyanova and will do pair skating

European Champion 2020 Alena Kostornaya stopped working with coach Elena Buyanova, to whom she left Eteri Tutberidze, and took up pair skating. Buyanova reported this “RIA Novosti”.
Kostornaya in early September endured hip surgery. In December, the figure skater first performed in pair skating in the Evgeni Plushenko show. Together with George Kunitsa, they skated in the images of Cinderella and the Prince.
“I let her go a long time ago because she started tumbling with these paired elements. I told her that there was no need to contact me about the couple. And they went to Sergei Roslyakov. He called me back, to which I replied: if she wants to do pair skating, let her do it. He said: yes, she asked for a steam room. In general, Alena chose pair skating, ”said Buyanova.
Kostornaya is 19 years old. Before the start of the 2020/21 season, the skater moved from the Tutberidze group to Plushenko, but returned a year later.
Last season Kostornaya first broke right hand and then left. The figure skater missed the Russian Championship and the Olympic Games in Beijing, and in early March 2022 it became known that she passed to Buyanova.
