Serbian football player Aleksandar Mitrovič quickly established himself in the jersey of the Al Hilal team. In Friday’s direct battle for the first place in the Saudi Arabian league table, he shone with three goals at Al Ittihad to send his team to the top of the competition after a 4-3 victory.
His tying goal at 1:1 in the 20th minute was particularly impressive, when defender Saud Abdulhamid’s center found him in the penalty area and he headed the volley into the corner. Karim Benzema sent the home team back into the lead in the 38th minute, and the players from Jeddah won 3:1 at halftime, but after the change of sides, Mitrovič was again in charge.
In the 60th minute, he reduced the score to 2:3, and in the 65th minute, he equalized from the penalty spot. Salem Al Dawsari scored the winning goal for the guests in the 71st minute after an assist from Sergej Milinković-Savič. For Mitrovič, it was the third duel in the jersey of the Riyadh club, and he already has four accurate hits to his credit.
Neymar, who is injured, did not play alongside him. Al Hilal have collected 13 points from five matches and lead the league by a point ahead of Al Ittihad after Friday. However, Al Ahly had one less game with a 100% record.
