Former President Alejandro Toledo arrived at the Jorge Chávez International Airport, coming from the United States, in order to submit to the Peruvian justice for the case of the irregular concession of the work of the South Interoceanic Highway.
Once in the national territory, the former president will be subjected to the routine identity control applied to the defendants who are brought before the courts. This will take place at the headquarters of the Judiciary located on block 7 of Tacna Avenue, in Cercado de Lima.
The procedure will be carried out by the preparatory investigation judge, Margarita Salcedo, who is the magistrate on duty today. Tomorrow the process on the Interoceanic Highway will be resumed by Judge Richard Concepción, who is in charge of it
For its part, the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), through its qualification board, will determine which penal establishment Toledo will be referred to.
This must take place in compliance with the preventive detention order issued against him, within the framework of the aforementioned judicial process.
In this, the Public Ministry, through the prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, has requested a custodial sentence of 20 years and 6 months for Toledo Manrique.
