Alejandro Sanz Joins Sony Music After Departure from Universal Music

singer and songwriter Alejandro Sanz has joined the record company Sony Music Entertainmentafter leaving Universal Music Group.

The artist has signed with Sony Music after just over 10 years working at Universal and after 20 years, before, at Warner.

“Happy to join the Sony Music family, a company where I have many friends, with whom I share a love of music. I am sure that together we are going to have fun doing what we like the most”Sanz declared during the signing.

The singer is on a tour, ‘Sanz en vivo”, which he interrupted today to sign the contract at the headquarters of his new record company. For its part, Sony Music has commented in its statement that the objective of this new stage is “continue developing the legacy and international projection of the artist”.

Sony’s president Jose Maria Barbathas highlighted Alejandro Sanz’s relationship with other artists. “I have seen his relationship with Niña Pastori, Malú and Dani Martín up close, I have participated in his collaboration with Alicia Keys, I was able to verify his contribution to the Rosalía phenomenon (…) and that makes him even greater in my eyes”.

Alejandro Sanz has published 18 albums of which he has sold 25 million units. He also has 80 platinum records in Spain.
