MADRID SPAIN.- Alejandro Sanz, singer-songwriter known for “Amiga mia”, is in legal trouble, according to reports from El Heraldo de México, the singer has not paid a loan for more than 4 million dollars since September 2021 for two mansions in Sunset Lake, United States.
According to the Spanish press, a Miami court requested to locate the singer-songwriter, due to the impossibility of locating him at any of the three addresses that he left registered during the legal process.
Likewise, given this situation, the Court of First Instance number 47 of Madrid declared the interpreter of “Corazón partío” in a ‘rebellious situation’ and his company, Alkazul SL, for not being able to contact him.
According to the newspaper “El Español” if the Spanish composer does not make the payment dictated by the sentence, the final term in the Miami court will expire and his personal assets will be auctioned.
For its part, the newspaper “El Mundo” reported that Sanz was sentenced by the court in question to pay the bank loans he requested from Total Bank of Florida to acquire said properties.
According to the Spanish press, the singer must deliver almost 58 million pesos.
Univision detailed that the Miami-Dade court stipulated that Alejandro could face up to two years in prison for the charge of punishable insolvency.
While People en Español pointed out that “an embargo is being prepared on some properties that the artist would have used as collateral in order to cover his debt; which are a company established in America and a property in Miami.”
So far the reasons why the artist did not face this legal situation are unknown, however, he continues to fulfill the commitments of his 2023 concert tour.
According to his official website, the singer must be in Culiacán and León, in Mexico, until October 29, from where he would return to Barcelona.
