Aleix Espargaró’s victory is the highlight of this Argentine GP, in a weekend where the Spaniard participated in his 200th MotoGP race. On the victory of his friend and compatriot, Jorge Martín admitted that this victory was more than deserved by the Aprilia rider.
The young man who races today with a Ducati GP22 remembers that it was Aleix Espargaró who gave him a hand and, in a way, saved his career by providing all the help – material and not only – at a time when Martín had not yet arrived at the world. Even though he missed the win, #89 is truly happy to see his friend triumph.
‘I’m really happy for him, really. Nobody knows how hard he worked. For me, it’s special because Aleix gave me a seat, took me to his house when I was racing in the Rookies Cup, gave me food, training material when I didn’t have anything, because everyone knows I come from a family humble. He has helped me a lot in the past and throughout my career he has spent a lot of time with me and made me a better rider. So the best that could happen today was for him to win. I’m sure we’ll have a beer afterwards’said this Sunday in debrief.
