Alec Baldwin quits Twitter again
Alec Baldwin has once again shut down his Twitter account after being caught up in further controversy. The actor has indeed drawn the wrath of Internet users for his comments on the accent of Gillian Anderson, who plays the role of Margaret Thatcher in the British series The Crown, for which she won a Golden Globe. “Are we changing the accent? It looks… fascinating, ”he posted while watching the awards ceremony.
A remark that did not get through, especially since it comes when the actor’s wife, Hilaria, had hinted that she was born in Spain by taking a particular accent, before admitting that she had grown up in Boston, MA and therefore had no accent. Gillian Anderson, meanwhile, was born in Chicago but raised in the UK, where she lives part of the year, and so has a fluctuating accent at times. Two points on which the tweetos pinned him, which angered him.
“We can no longer be ironic on Twitter. We can no longer be ironic in the United States because the United States has become so stuck, stressed and unlivable ”, he was carried away on Instagram, where he justified himself, adding that he is a big fan of Gillian Anderson.
