Actor Alec Baldwin has been charged for the second time in the US state of New Mexico with manslaughter for firing a shot that killed director of photography Halina Hutchins on the set of the American western film “Rust.”
The accusation comes months after prosecutors dropped previous charges against Alec Baldwin.
Baldwin’s attorneys, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, issued a statement on Friday on behalf of their client, saying, “We look forward to our day in court.”
The accusation comes after an independent forensic examination concluded that Baldwin would have had to pull the trigger of a gun he was using during preparations for one of the scenes in order for the live bullet that killed Hutchins to be fired. This is the same conclusion as a previous examination conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on the weapon.
Baldwin denies pulling the trigger and has said he was not responsible for Hutchins’ death.
