Aldi’s iPhone 7 is too expensive

The iPhone 7 will Discounter Aldi Nord from February 27, 2020 for around 290 euros in black and gold. Both models are equipped with 32 GB memory each. The now aging smartphone originally came onto the market in 2016, but it is not a fundamentally bad choice for beginners.

What bothers us, however, is the fact that the Aldi range is not new, but used and remanufactured equipment. Aldi calls this “completely overhauled” and reports that each device has been completely disassembled and checked and cleaned on a single component basis. However, minimal signs of wear cannot be ruled out, the discounter continues. What exactly that means is not reported.

Defective components are said to have been replaced with original parts, which makes us a little skeptical. Apple does not sell components to anyone, only to authorized companies.

Since there is also no guarantee from Apple, the customer must contact Aldi or their partner Medion if there is anything wrong. He wants to offer a two-year guarantee, even if it is used and reconditioned devices.

Anyone who buys an Aldi iPhone receives his Aldi SIM card, but can also use any other SIM card.

So what is bothering us about Aldi’s iPhone offering? To make a long story short: it’s the price. There is still new goods for around 300 to 350 euros and Aldi should make a clear discount on a used, albeit outdated, device. Incidentally, there are also refurbished iPhone 7 for well under 290 euros at other retailers.

What do you think of Aldi’s new offer? Are you going to strike or not? Write us your opinion in the comments, we are looking forward to it.
