Global lifestyle brand Alcantara announced that its own material of the same name was selected as the interior material for BMW XM. BMW XM, to which the M hybrid system was applied for the first time, applied Alcantara to the headliner to strengthen the innovative aspect unique to the brand.
The BMW XM is one of the main models unveiled by BMW M GmbH in 2022 celebrating its 50th anniversary, and it showcases an interior focused on a comfortable driving experience. Alcantara is applied to the three-dimensional prismatic headliner of the interior of the BMW XM, completing a luxurious atmosphere with lighting using hundreds of LEDs. The deep blue Alcantara used on the interior ceiling of the vehicle blends with the color of the headliner to create a soft interior atmosphere.
In November of last year, Alcantara collaborated with BMW Italia to introduce the BMW M4 Competition with Alcantara’s own custom interior. Black Alcantara is applied to the seats, headliner, pillars, and door panels of the car and finished with stitches of a contrasting color to commemorate the long-standing partnership between Alcantara and BMW, proving Alcantara’s unique advanced customization ability. Alcantara Chairman Andrea Boragno said, “Alcantara is a lightweight, soft and durable material that is loved in various fields around the world.” I am happy,” he said.
