Albin Lundin was suspended for three matches after colliding with a referee in Timrå’s meeting with Örebro last Thursday.
The suspension and the decision made by the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation’s Disciplinary Committee upset large parts of Hockey Sweden and Albin Lundin missed Saturday’s game against Leksand.
But now comes the twist.
After the club’s appeal to the National Sports Board, the announcement now comes that the Timrå center can play again – pending the verdict.
– A decision was made here at lunchtime which means that he can play while the investigation is ongoing. After that, the notifier will be allowed to express himself before a final decision is made, says Joakim Dahl at the Riksidrotssnämnden, to Expressen.
Timrå faces Malmö on Thursday evening and Lundin can already be in the squad then.
