Alberto Cormillot turns 86: the visit of Emilio Cormillot, his 3-year-old son, in Cuestión de Peso

It was a special day at Cuestión de Peso at the end of the week after Alberto Cormillot was honored for his years of career, hours before his 86th birthday. The doctor received a nice surprise live surrounded by his work team and loved ones.

“We have something for you, it’s a preview. Look, it’s here on the screen,” said Mario Masaccessi, while the nutritionist watched some greetings on the studio’s big screen, while participants, former participants, patients, collaborators and family members came up to applaud him or chant his name.

Also present were the parents of Estefanía Pasquini, her partner and with whom she has her son Emilio, who did not skimp on praise for the honoree: “He is a spectacular man,” said her mother-in-law, visibly moved.

ALBERTO CORMILLOT’S REACTION TO MARCELO AFTER THREATENING TO LEAVE THE WEIGHT ISSUE TREATMENT

After Marcelo threatened to leave the Cuestión de Peso show, the program hosted by Mario Massaccesi on eltrece, Alberto Cormillot was blunt with the participant.

“I am doing the treatment on my own now, and I feel like I am occupying a place here that I could give to someone else who needs it. I feel like I am not in condition. But well, I feel like being here is like being in the middle of nowhere too,” said Marcelo, a little discouraged about the possibility of continuing in the cycle.

After listening to him, Cormillot spoke up: “First, I think that the fact that you want to give up your place to someone else is suspiciously generous. Listen to me, I listened to you, now we can listen to each other a little bit.”

“Suspicious generosity, because it means that you are suffering from treatment fatigue, and fatigue occurs when one does a treatment for a long time. When there is determination, one finds a way out, when there is no determination, sedation appears, that is part of how the body, mind and spirit of an overweight person works,” added the doctor.

And he added bluntly: “Your body is protesting because it has gone down and it is sending signals that tell it to stop for a bit because we cannot stand you going down any further. But you can help it to begin to perceive that its mind is playing tricks on it.”

“You are not your mind. Your mind can tell you ‘leave it, be generous, the other person needs it more’, a number of arguments that are credible to you. But you can answer, ‘look, you tell your mind, don’t be a dunce, I’m very overweight, I can keep losing weight and it would be good for me’. It’s one of those internal dialogues that we have,” Cormillot concluded.
